Healing From Sexual Abuse
First I want to tell you that I am so sorry you had to endure this horrible tragedy in your life, for some more than once, maybe even years. Next I want to let you know that you CAN heal and be completely victorious over the past. Right now, this might be your first time, never the less, allow your self to relax and just breath. The simple fact that you are breathing, yes in and out, means you have a purpose. What is it? What could be the purpose in such horrible tragedy? Paul, the New Testament author of Corinthians tells us:
"We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead." 2 Corinthians 1:8--9
Many blame God after such horrible events occur in their life, but this scripture indicates that God saved them as they learned to rely on Him.
None of us like for pain to be a part of our story. We often reject it and want a story we think is more beautiful, not knowing the pain that another may suffer unknowingly. Scripture tells us the purpose of our pain:
"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us." 2 Corinthians 1:4
God will use what the enemy intended for evil and work it out for your good and the good of others.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
