How to Overcome Anger

In order to overcome anger we must first find out the root cause. No, not who is making you mad. This is just a symptom of something that has been festering inside of you for a very long time.

There have been patterns of hurt that have been amplified over the years. Then someone comes along and slightly taps into that button and you explode.

Once you discover where the anger originated the next step is to go through the forgiveness process.

This does not mean that this button has disappeared, it might, but simply knowing your button and where it came from will create an awareness that what is happening today is different from the origination. This is where compartmental thinking is helpful. You can then learn to separate each situation and gain solutions to current problems rather than striking out in anger.
